One layer of red velvet, one layer of vanilla with a nutella filling hiding beneath a whipped white chocolate frosting. The bow is cheesecloth tricked out to look like burlap for a bit of rustic chic to offset the rosette design. Happy birthday guys.

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Stewart
It was a wonderful day for an outdoor wedding reception. Hot (but not too hot) and sunny with enough of a breeze to keep the mosquitoes away. A crowd of happy folk and large amounts of food. Three flavors of cake. Who could ask for more. Truly, a grand time was had by all.
First, my favorite picture of the happy couple taken at Christmas 2012:
Then the wedding cake, the top tier was a white vanilla cake with nutella buttercream filling, the second tier was a carrot cake with cream cheese filling. The whole was covered in a white chocolate buttercream and decorated with gumpaste flowers and lettering.
Then there was the groom's cake which was the groom's absolute favorite black forest cake, and which we managed to make a complete surprise (which is not that difficult when only two people know about it). Darkest chocolate cake, fresh whipped cream, cherries and just a bit boozy, what's not to love about it?
Did I mention that a good time was had by all?
