I was asked to make a gorilla themed cake for a little girl who loves the movie "Mighty Joe Young:". I think my rendition was spot on by the look on the birthday girl's face. The gorilla is made of rice cereal and covered in modeling chocolate. The "hair" is modeling chocolate mixed with a bit of fondant to make it more flexible. The tree trunk is a mixture of modeling chocolate and peanut butter flavored candy clay. The cake itself was a traditional vanilla layered with a bit of raspberry jam and covered in American buttercream.

Happy Birthday Yvonne
I've known Suzanne forever, and when she asked for a cake for her grandaughter who was turning two how could I say no. We decided that nothing but Thomas the train would do so heeeere's Thomas. Thomas is crafted of rice cereal treats and covered in candy clay and fondant. The tracks are fondant and the ties are a mixture of chocolate and peanut butter candy clay. The cake itself was my special orange cake recipe flavored with orange juice and zest and was covered in an American buttercream piped to look like grass.
